Cricket

I liked Cricket’s inquisitive expression and found painting the details of the fine hair to be very enjoyable.

Aimita, The Nepalese Girl
Original 20″ x 30″
As a retired Nurse, my friend goes to Nepal every year to do relief work. She loves to take photographs while she is there. She has the gift of being able to “see” creatively through the lens of her camera and took this wonderful photo, which she allowed me to paint. She supports a street school that offers education to children who live in poverty, so a percentage of the money from the sale of these prints will be used to help support the school.
Original available: $600
White Percherons
Original: 20″ x 24″
These beautiful horses were photographed by my friend Carole Fawcett. She originally went to the farm to photograph this couple’s foal. But the parents became more photographically interesting as they posed for her from their stall. I loved reproducing this photograph to canvas.
Original available: $500
Morning Glory
Original: 24″ x 36″
Although I am not a ‘horse woman’ in the true sense of the phrase, I did grow up with a pony to ride every summer. I love painting horses and feel an affinity with them. I was intrigued by the back lighting of this lovely horse.
Original available: $900
Brown Horse
Original: 18″ x 36″
I just loved the quizzical expression of this, the second horse I painted. It is interesting to note that horses have rectangular pupils like goats. (it is not always easy to see) This allows them panoramic vision to allow them to detect predators. Most cloven footed animals have these rectangular pupils, while most of their predators have round pupils.

The Girl with the Pearl Earring
Every so often I copy something from a Master Painter. This is the famous painting by the Dutch Master Vermeer who was known for his mastery of light. I was fortunate to be able to visit the Vermeer Museum in Delft and I learned so much. I also visited the National Art Gallery in De Hague, where I saw the original.
Prints available only.
